"First time using riders share. Marc was a terrific host. Excellent communication. The Yamaha tenere 700 was an absolute rip! As a harley touring rider it was not very comfortable on the long haul as expected but handled the mountain roads and highways flawlessly. I definitely recommend renting from Marc and his machines"

    Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you hit the starter button.

Yes. You must hold a valid motorcycle endorsement or other license credential that legally authorizes motorcycle operation, and you must meet Riders Share's rental requirements. Please confirm your license is current and properly endorsed before you reserve your dates, and present it when you pick up your motorcycle. We cannot release a bike to any rider who cannot show the required credential.

All bookings are processed through Riders Share, our rental platform. You choose your dates, select any available add-on gear, and complete the reservation entirely online. Protection options, fees, eligibility requirements, and coverage terms are shown during the Riders Share booking process, so review them carefully before confirming. After your reservation is confirmed, contact us to coordinate the available pickup or delivery option for your trip.

Every rental includes 200 miles per day, which is generally plenty for a full day of riding the Blue Ridge Parkway or exploring the local loops around Asheville. If you are planning a longer point-to-point route or a particularly ambitious day, let us know and we can help you estimate whether the included mileage will cover your trip.

Each rental includes 200 miles per day. If you exceed the included mileage, the additional miles are handled through your Riders Share reservation rather than billed by us directly. For the current per-mile rate and exactly how overage is calculated, contact us or review the Riders Share listing for current details.

Yes. Delivery is available within 60 miles of Asheville, subject to advance coordination and availability. To confirm whether your location is eligible, along with the current delivery fee and schedule, contact us or review the Riders Share listing for current details before you book.

Airport pickup at Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) may be available, subject to advance coordination and availability. If you would like to fly in and ride out, contact us with your arrival details before booking so we can confirm whether airport pickup can be arranged. For current scheduling and any associated costs, contact us or review the Riders Share listing for current details.

We offer DOT-approved full-face helmets, armored riding jackets, and waterproof roll-top luggage, with helmets and jackets available from $10 per day. Because our gear selection and sizes are limited, we rent gear exclusively to our motorcycle rental customers. All gear is subject to sizing availability, so request it during booking or contact us ahead of time.

Absolutely. We are local riders who know these roads well, and local route support is available with every rental. Tell us what kind of riding you want to do — paved touring, gravel and forest service roads, or a mix of both — and we will recommend routes that fit your motorcycle choice, experience level, and available time. Route recommendations are planning guidance only; riders are responsible for verifying current closures, weather, surface conditions, legal access, and whether a route matches their own skill level before riding.

The Harley-Davidson Pan America is best suited to paved touring, mountain twisties, and confident packed gravel. With 150 horsepower, semi-active suspension, cruise control, and strong wind protection, it is well equipped for long days on the Blue Ridge Parkway and technical paved curves. Choose it when your trip is mostly asphalt, and always ride within your experience level and current road conditions.

Both the Yamaha Ténéré 700 and the BMW F 900 GS Trophy are strong options for appropriately selected gravel, forest service roads, lighter ADV riding, and mixed-surface routes. The Ténéré 700 is a straightforward, lighter-feeling choice for riders who want a proven middleweight platform, while the BMW F 900 GS Trophy adds 105 horsepower, a 21-inch front wheel, cross-spoke wheels, long-travel suspension, and an off-road-oriented Enduro Package. We recommend either option for riders with appropriate off-pavement experience. Before you ride, verify road closures, legal access, weather, and current road conditions.

Riders Share advertises roadside assistance, but exact coverage, eligibility, and service terms are controlled by your specific reservation, so review them during booking. We can also provide local route guidance during normal business hours when reachable. For urgent safety issues, contact emergency services first. For the specific terms of roadside assistance, contact us or review the Riders Share listing for current details.

These are substantial adventure motorcycles, and we recommend them for riders with intermediate to advanced experience — especially if you plan to ride off-road, gravel roads, or technical mountain routes. The Yamaha Ténéré 700 and BMW F 900 GS Trophy are intended for riders with appropriate off-pavement experience, while the Harley-Davidson Pan America is best suited to riders comfortable managing a powerful touring-oriented ADV motorcycle. If you are unsure which bike suits your skill level, tell us about your experience and we will help you choose a suitable option for a safe, enjoyable ride.

Yes. Multi-day rentals are available, subject to motorcycle availability and the Riders Share booking process. The Blue Ridge region takes days to explore properly, from the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Pisgah back roads and the Southeastern Backcountry Discovery Route. You can select your full date range during the Riders Share booking process.

You can bring your own helmet or rent one of ours. North Carolina requires motorcycle operators and passengers to wear a helmet that complies with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 218 (DOT), and our DOT-approved full-face helmets are available from $10 per day, subject to sizing availability. If you prefer to use your own gear, make sure it meets DOT standards before you arrive.
